TODDLER MONTESSORI

The Montessori Inclusive School’s Toddler Program allows our youngest age group children to expand their world through exploration. A very nurturing environment rich in wonders makes it possible for the young ones to explore through their five senses in their own direction. As a result, they gain more independence as they learn to manage their bodies and their needs.

Additionally, TMIS’ Toddler Program introduces the children to the fundamentals of the Montessori philosophy. Children learn the routines of the classroom and have responsibilities, including cleaning up after themselves, putting their work away, and keeping an orderly environment. Every child learns grace and courtesy which is an important epitome of Montessori education. Social skills are developed and refined in an

environment full of empathy. Lastly, children learn how to work with others, respect their friend’s words, and respectfully communicate their needs with each other.

A key difference in joining at the toddler level is the process used to facilitate positive transitions from home environment with key caregivers to teachers in their unknown classroom community. At this age, building trust in their new environment and with new people is critical to their feeling of security and their ability to happily grow and learn.
